About Porcelain Cake Toppers
The method used to make these cake toppers has a long and rich history. Artisans have been crafting porcelain figurines, vases and dinnerware since the 7th century when the Chinese developed the technique for firing pottery at very high temperatures.
Porcelain is a type of hard ceramic that is mildly translucent but can be painted to add color. A glazed finish gives the surface lots of sheen and luster, an unglazed finish leaves the cake toppers with a matte surface and a very delicate look.
